Recently, I've noticed something in Photoshop I cannot quite understand:
I've got a Photoshop document (not a specific one) in e.g. sRGB, ICC-Profile embedded. Now, when using 'Convert to Profile' with soft proofing against the same profile (so source and target profile are identical), no matter the other settings, the colors of the document change pretty strongly.
As both the profiles are exactly the same shouldn't the colors stay the same too? I'd really appreciate anybody telling me whatever I'm missing here.

I am creating an icon with Illustrator, which I am trying to export in both a light and dark fill format.
Currently I have the icon with a dark version on an Artboard.
Is there anyway to export a light and dark version without having to export, then update fill, export, and undo fill change?
Not sure if this is possible with illustrator.

: Re: How do I make Illustrator export for screens at Does anyone have a method by which I can export in Illustrator at <0.5x? It seems -- unlike Photoshop -- if I attempt to export @0.33x,
Illustrator does not allow you scale at other percentages.
If all your artboards are the same size, you could take the artboard size and divide by the percentage you want. Then change the scale to width and write down the width that you just calculated.
Ex. Artboard size is 580px and you want .33x, you would change the scale to width and write 191px.
: Re: How do I make this signature look more high-quality? How can I make this image a higher quality? It looks like a low quality image right now and I can't seem to figure how to fix that.
Like Scott said, I wouldn't try and improve it any further, the current one looks legitimate and that legitimate look is very professional (in my opinion) compared to those digital ones that look like (and I've seen that some actually are..) a typed cursive font.
The image trace feature in Adobe Illustrator could also help, it works best with basic stroke & outline images.

I'm batch editing all jpeg files metadata. I achieve to edit XMP title, description, keyword of jpeg files. But I want to edit IPTC data of these jpeg files too. Because shutterstock reads metadata from IPTC. So is it possible to edit IPTC description, keyword with extendscript in Illustrator ? if possible how ?
I attached sample jpeg IPTC below. Just I want to copy XMP metadata to suitable IPTC metadata.
Any help appreciated ! Thanks !
: Re: Photoshop - How to delete all hidden layer from selected Artboard only? Currently when I choose to "Delete Hidden Layers", it deletes all hidden layer from all the artboards. How to delete
Answering to my own question after 4 Days, maybe it helps to someone else.
Deleting all hidden layers from a selected Artboard is simple once you follow these steps:
Select the Artboard where you want to delete all of the hidden layers
You can select more than one at a time
Change Layer Filter to > Artboard
Layer Filter is located in Layers Panel, it is the first Element
Select > Delete Hidden Layers
Delete Hidden Layers option is located in Layers Panel's Menu
Now Change Layer Filter to > Kind
Done! All hidden layers are deleted from selected Artboard(s) only.

This question may be quite confusing so I've attached an image with it.
Below is a snap from Yelp site, there you can see $$$ which is for price level. So what I want to ask is, is there any alternative anyone has used?
Actually I'm designing a page for similar site so I'm thinking is there anything else we could use or has anyone used?
: Re: how to take off all the white space from a page in photoshop? cause i want to change the color of some black lines by locking the layer and coloring just the lines but since it's one page
You seem to be a newbie with PS?
Do it by duplicating parts of the image and editing it.
Use the marquee, lasso and magic wand and ctrl+j. Your portions will be in separate layers for you to edit.
Do the edits and save.
: Re: How do is export a layer with icon from photoshop? I have an icon like this: It's on its own layer with a tranpsarent background, I duplicate it onto a new layer. I can't remember how
Command–click to select the layer. Then select the crop tool (hit "C"). If the crop tool isn't the current tool, then it should crop to the selection. If it is the current tool simply pick something else, like the move tool (hit "V"), and then pick the crop tool again. Hit enter to crop the image. Hide the layers behind it, and hit save as. You'll need to use the history pallet to get back to your original state.
Doing it quickly it looks like this:
V for the move tool
C for the crop tool
Enter to crop
Hide any layers behind
Command-shift-S to save as
Use history to go back

I have the image above as an EPS file. What I want to do is apply color to the segments with different colors. I'm in Illustrator and have never run across this issue with an EPS file. So far I've tried the following:
I can't even count the number of times I've selected the image and
hit Ungroup, but that hasn't helped.
When I double-click on a
segment with the Selection Tool, Illustrator takes me into something
called Isolation Mode. It allows me to select individual sections and
move, delete, or otherwise manipulate just that segment, but not to
apply a different color to it.
When I click on a segment with the Direct Selection Tool, it automatically selects all of the segments in the image. It won't let me isolate an individual segment.
I've also tried to copy and paste
segments and apply the color to the copy, but that doesn't work.
Everything I've tried so far has failed. With each, whenever I try to apply color to an individual segment, Illustrator applies the color to the whole image.
Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
: Re: Should I focus on dimensions or proportions, when creating a logo? I am currently in the process of creating a logo for myself, within Photoshop. I know many may say that using Illustrator
I would not design a logo with either a specific proportion or dimension in mind. There are countless possibilities for where a logo can end up that I would say it is pointless to assume that your logo will be used for a specific size.
However some companies do have their logo in different formats. A company can have variations of 1 logo that is suitable for vertical or horizontal orientation. Some people will specify that they will want you to use their horizontal logo as the primary logo and use the vertical logo when appropriate. A vertical logo is sometimes referred to as a stacked logo. Where the graphic element is on the top and written text below the logo, sometimes on multiple lines if there is a lot of text.
There isn't really a best practice for a specific ratio or size, that is why most logos are in vector format. For size I would probably design a logo around 2,000px but I highly recommend you just created the logo in a vector program.

: Re: What is this tool called? I'm looking for a tool or a filter that closely resembles how this looks, it transforms the layer kinda of like a smudge tool but again I'm not sure what its called
This looks like the Perspective Warp tool. Edit>Perspective Warp
Starting out in Layout mode, click to add as many Perspective planes as you want. Move all the points where you need them, then hit the Warp button to enter Warp mode.
Now you can adjust all your points and it will adjust the image in a similar fashion to the smudge tool.
: Re: Opentype feature for controlling double- or single-story lowercase "a"? Is there an Opentype feature that controls whether the lowercase "a" glyph is shown as "single storey" or "double storey"?
Stylistic Sets would be the feature that would make more sense in a case like this, where you want to change the style of one or several characters. However, this feature needs to be coded when making the font. If the creator has not included both the glyph (the lowercase italic two-story a) and the functionality you will not be able to create it in a word processor /graphics editing app just by turning on the OpenType feature. If the creator has included the glyph but not the opentype feature, you can manually replace the glyphs you need.

I am using InDesign (for the first time) to create a big scientific poster that will be printed on several A3 sheets.
To achieve this, I am intending to use the automatic "tiling" function that can be checked upon printing in ID. However, when designing my poster, I would like to know where the cuts between the pages will be. I want to place my pictures so that they are not being cut by printing on two pages.
Is this possible to achieve?

Thank you for your help.
The issue was an overlap of an object with the image box on the master page. (I used the master page from page three onwards, which is why I didn't have the problem on the first couple of spreads)
The reason I didn't spot it was the fact it was on the master page and that the publish online feature made the object on top of the image box opaque, instead of 100% transparent (which it is in indesign and if you export to pdf).

: Re: InDesign: Import spreadsheet as single, formatted, column I'm laying out 100+ business listings into a three-column document. The listings are currently in a .csv spreadsheet that looks like so:
It is possible - but you need some experience in indesigns datamerge and an additional script from Loic called inline merge. With datamerge you can import the content of your csv to indesign. In datamerge options you can set multiple records per page so you can import like 16 records per page. Including Our styling. What datamerge cannot handle is the flowing of content inside one text frame
Therfore you meed the above mentioned script.
edit: for indesign datamerge your csv has to be comma separated and utf 16 encoded
