I'm running Photoshop CS6 on Windows 10 with resolution at 3840x2160 and scale and layout at 250%.
At first I was having an issue with all the menus being super tiny, so I looked for a solution and found that going into Photoshop compatibility properties and checking "Override high DPI scaling behavior" worked.
But now my brush painting area doesn't correspond to the cursor size anymore and it's really annoying ..... As in the area painted is actually bigger than the cursor size.
Does anyone know how to fix it without having to go back to everything being super tiny?

: Re: Photoshop: high pass filter or sharpening filter? I was wondering, what is the difference between the high-pass filter and the unsharpen mask one? I am used to use the first to improve the quality
Let me tell you a secret, Photoshop is doing almost the same in those cases.
Let me explain.
Classic sharpening (Using Linear Filters) is as following:
Take an Image.
Apply High Pass Filter on it.
Add the result (Or some kind of adding operation) of 2 to the original image of 1.
More than that, in Photoshop the High Pass Filter used in Unsharp Mask is the exact one in the High Pass filter.
Actually, in Photoshop, both are created as following - Photoshop's High Pass:
Take an Image.
Blur it using Gaussian Blur (Which is actually Box Blur applied few times).
Subtract the result of 2 from 1 and put the result as High Pass Filter result.
Now, the question is, given an High Pass of an image, how do you want to use it?
If you just want to add it, then Unsharp Mask is your friend.
If you want different application (Like Multiplication and addition, etc...) use High Pass Filter + Calculation Tool / Apply Image / Blending Mode.
If you really want a modern way to sharpen images - Use Multi Scale / Multi Frequency Sharpening.
Those are superior to any of those.
Just Google Multi Scale Sharpening Photoshop.
Another great approach to deal with the weaknesses of High Pass based Sharpening (USM included) is given by DoubleUSM.
Davide Barranca is an expert on this and he has amazing and hilarious video on the subject - Double USM 2 Panel for Adobe Photoshop.
In summary, he take care of Dark and Bright Halos in an independent approach, tackling each on its own.

I am using dynamic symbols for a bunch of icons and when I create a dynamic symbol in black, color editing for individual symbols(which doesn't affect the master symbol) doesn't work. I would like my master symbol to be in black (as it's the most used version)and change its color here and there. But apparently this individual recolor thing with the direct selection tool doesn't work when the symbol has been created in black. Someone can help? would be awesome!

I would like to reproduce the same kind of waves of the wifi signal but connected each other like below. The orange color is what i would like to have and that i can't achieve in one perfect path.
So i tried to start with half circles or polar grid but don't know how to make a clean connection. Adding circles seems to be the best idea i had but difficult to place and connect them exactly

Working off of the same server we have an interesting problem. When one user creates a library on their machine and saves it to the shared server, all connect via the same macOSs path, then when another user loads the library from the server their links are broken and the media needs to be relinked.
My first thought was that the server is being mounted under slightly different paths on each users machine but, after inspection this is not the case. I made sure that they were connecting the exact same way and even checked the paths when they were being relinked to be sure.
There is obviously a path issue because once another user relinks an asset the original user now has broken links. Can someone please give me some advice on troubleshooting this problem further? Has anyone out there experienced similar problems?
: Re: Free font similar to Quattrocento, with italics I'm a fan of Impallari Type's Quattrocentro. It has a certain classic elegance that I like, and it is very readable on screens. Unfortunately
I believe I came across Quattrocento while looking for the font used in mid-to-late-1980:s "Byte" magazine. I later learned (via fontsinuse.com) that the actual font used was ITC Novarese, which has the interesting property of the italics that Janus Bahs Jacquet mentions in a comment, and seems to fulfill all of your criteria. Not free, though.

I'm using Illustrator CC 2018 and I wanted to make a logo for a logo challenge.
It's a horizontal logo with dimensions 400x100 px. Everything looks perfect in Illustrator, but as soon as I export it to any kind of file format results are always pixelated.
I have tried exporting it as jpeg100,jpeg80,jpeg50,jpeg20 and I get similar pixelated results every time.
After spending hours of research and countless thoughts of giving up I've decided to ask for help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
both of these appear to be pixelated.

I'm new to illustrator, and attempting to round the corners of the intersections between lines on shapes like the one attached. My first issue is that I am unable to merge the shape into one. I've tried using the join tool which does nothing, and tried using the merge tool which removes my lines between the blob. The shape has been constructed using the curvature tool with a high line width and no fill on the lines between the blob.
I appreciate there might not be a solution to this problem, but if anyone could give me another suggestion on how to rebuild this shape from the beginning in a way that I can achieve my intended result that would also be great :)

I have a document, let's call it A, that consists mainly of a single text thread.
Somewhere in this thread, there's a cross reference to another chapter in the same thread, and it works fine.
I have a second document, lets' call it B, which is a variant of A.
B has different master pages and different paragraph/character styles, so I used the content collector/placer to link the text thread in A to the one in B.
A wise use of variables and conditional text took care of some smaller differences between the two threads, and that works fine too, except...
...well except for cross references. Cross references in B break, and when I set them right (to the corresponding paragraphs in B), cross references in A break, and so on in a cycle.
Why is this happening? How do I solve this?

You should try Actions I think that will solve your problem. record the action of going to the color dialog and paste the value hit okay and stop recording. Assign a key on the keyboard for the action that you just recorded. and the next time you copy a color code just hit that key on the keyboard and it will play that action for you. that should fix your problem.

In the Book Panel drop down menu there is 'Book page numbering options...'. Then choose 'Update page and section numbers'. This will fix all docs in the book. You may need to go back inside to see if pagination is affected in each doc.
: Re: What is the difference between a website Style Guide and a Pattern Library? As per the question, I am currently trying to identify a clear difference between a Style Guide and a Pattern Library
I guess the website style is about the layout and the appearance of the page, and the pattern concerns the format of the script and text in general!
I hope this help, and that an expert will give a better answer for all of us.

For best results, release the clipping mask when changing the tile
size or editing art that overlaps the tile edge.
: Re: Correction Layers in Photoshop I'm doing another art piece and a couple of artists recommended instead of making skin colors as shapes with the pen tool as a base I should make a correction
Apply a Filter to a Smart Object Layer.
Adjustment Layers get created and applied to the Smart Object when the filter is selected.
A Correction Layer would be the use of an Adjustment layer to correct the effects of the filter applied to the object.
Adjustment layers allow for "small adjustments" These are non destructive, and amendable (can be switched on/ off, increased or decreased).
Create a Smart Object from your layer, or use an existing smart object.
: Re: I'm looking for hierarchy-dependent logo version management Ok so I'm a newb at graphic design for sure. I can hardly hack my way through GIMP/Inkscape/PS, but I want to solve this problem:
Convert your original logo Design / Logo Set into a smart object.
Right click on layer and choose "convert to smart object" from options. You can create non destructive effects with adjustment layers added to the smart object.
you can create a Symbols. (You can drag artwork directly to the symbols menu)
Smart objects and symbols can be placed into other Adobe programs such as After Effects and be animated / altered non destructively. You can always edit the smart objects/symbols and then update the placed files, which in turn will update all instances.
