Recently I stumbled into a startup news website yourstory.com who seem to be using a method to increase user engagement (increase page views) by capturing user's "Mouse leaving" event and on recognizing that event set focus to a NEW full page content DIV -- purpose seems to be able to draw user's attention back to "Most Read" kind of content-page and inviting them to click through to another page.

Even though it seems like a fine way to me (from the User experience), what I am not sure is if such page design can be penalized by Google, as misleading (has hidden DIVs etc). I am hoping to get an opinion if the implementation is SEO-safe :: it seems jQuery is used to capture mouseleave event which when triggered sets focus to an overlay DIV that has "Most Read" kind of content-elements.

Please advise.
