My current personal website is myusername.github.io, and I own another domain name provided by my school, myschool.edu/~myusername. So I want change my website's domain name to my school one.
Considering in the future I may move to another school/company, I don't think it is a good practice to just copy everything over from GitHub to my school host. Instead, a better practice, I think, is to change the domain name and keep the web content still on GitHub.
So I tried to do so and found a tutorial by GitHub. It seems that I
need some instructions from the school on how to set up the CNAME file? The school refused to do so, but I doubt I really can't do this myself?
Suggestions of other good practices are very welcome!
