Let's say we have a company with a number of domains example.com, domain.com, and email.com for example.

They want to maintain the same addresses at each domain (sales@...), so they would have sales@example.com, sales@domain.com, and sales@email.com.

Rather than have a mailbox for each address on each domain - and thus requiring a email hosting for that domain - they want to forward all email from other domains to example.com.

However, they also want to be able to reply from each address; they want to be able to send emails from sales@example.com and sales@domain.com. This rules out simple forwarding at the DNS level.

They are happy to run a mailserver to manage email to/from domain.com and email.com, but want their email stored in their mailboxes at 'example.com. Ideally, mail wouldn't be stored anywhere butexample.com` and the mailserver would simply route traffic to/from the other domain.

All the domains are running on the same webserver.

Any ideas how to best set up this process? Or an alternative setup; is this unnecessarily complicated? There has to be a simpler solution.

Cheers
