I am new to handling servers and stuff. Though being a developer who used linux as the primary OS for a while, I am well versed in linux as a whole. But coming to deploying a woo commerce store we created for our start up. We decided to go with amazon aws. Tried with the free tier EC2 instance, which slows down terribly after a while.
I am aware I will need a better configuration than a single instance running the server and the DB.
My question is, what is recommended instance configuration to use for such a website?
How many instances? What should be the network be like? should I use the amazon services like RDS for database etc ? if yes, what all are recommended?
The website may need to be able to serve at least 500-1000 requests per minute without slowing down.
My apologies if such a question has been asked, unfortunately I didn't find any in my search.
Edit: RDS service will go beyond the current monthly budget so I guess, an advice regarding using different types of EC2 instances would be most welcome
Edit: this is not a duplicate. My question is regarding the different options and instance types of AWS, not hosting in general.
