Google says there is no difference, nonetheless I experienced myself the page-views dropping substantially, by merging several ccTLD to one .info/cc (I did it due to costs). Obviously I had the .info site well configured with a valid sitemap, linking every locale and language to its specific page .info/cc (cc stands for country code).

There is any trustworthy information regarding this subject?
