My webpage is indexed by Google (when I search for site:company.com" in Google, I see the main page and all subpages), but when I search for "Company Ltd", I see first company data aggregator entries (e.g. companycheck.co.uk), the company's LinkedIn profile, and only on the 2nd page of Google search do I see the company's webpage itself. Due to webpage design, the company's name appears at the bottom of the page only (in copyright notice), in ALT tags for logos and keywords. Why is Google not showing my company's webpage as the first hit for my company's full name?

I don't think my question is an exact duplicate of What are the best ways to increase a site's position in Google? because I am not trying to position my website higher in the search results for some arbitrary term (e.g. "photography software") but I want to make sure that the website for Company Ltd is at the top of search results for "Company Ltd". Virtually every company that I checked has it like that. I must be doing something terribly wrong, not just your usual SEO failings.
