I have a 1200x640 .png exported from a .ps file, I am gonna use it for my website background, but its size is too big, 1.1MB.
I went to image optimizer and got a 313k output. Putting them together, I can't tell the difference at all. So my questions are:
1) About what mechanism the optimizer is using to reduce the images' size? I know it could be very technical, but I just want a rough idea.
2) More importantly, how do I export an optimized picture from PS? When I was exporting the image, PS didn't give me too many options about compression(just "none" and "small compression")
