I have designed a download card template that needs to have 500 9-digit codes pasted into the template. The template is designed for print so that 10 cards are on each page. Bandcamp exports their codes in a .CSV file, with all the codes in the first column.

I tried creating a layer of 10 codes pasted into it, and then creating an action that copy and pastes from the layer into the 10 text layers, which would save considerable time. But Illustrator produced a error message saying "copy" was not available. What should be my approach to this time consuming process?
