I use an effect where I take a text object then convert it to a selection then put that selection on a grass layer and then desaturate and ramp up the exposure to make it look like line marking paint on the grass.

Can I do this with a text object so that I can change the size and position of this effect? I.e. using the text as a mask that can apply filters?
