I am trying to make a GIF were I have 21 images one after another. I arranged them in AE and overlapped them with fading opacity, so they change fluently form one to another. The video is quite long (42sec), so even using 10fps - its still 420frames+.
I need this transition effect (I know that normally if it was just one image after another will be just 20 frames for the hole thing), so I came up with this:
How do I "merge" all the still frames (all the frames that are the same) together? So at the end (if lets say each image is 1,5sec still and 0,5 sec fading opacity transition) I will have 1 frame for the hole 1,5sec and "animate" with multiple frames only the actual transition?
I believe this is the only way having a 42sec GIF, that is less then 5MB for lets say 500x500px (and still having a good animated transition).
Here is a short sample of a part of the video -
