I am creating an SVG file with multiple layers (using group nodes for each layer). Can I create a group node with a filter and modify the appearance of all other nodes visually below it?
I am trying to apply a monochrome effect over parts of a complex scene, so my top level element may simply be a rectangle and I want a filter to make everything inside the rectangle to be monochrome but everything outside the rectangle to be its normal colour.
Not that it matters, but I am using Inkscape to create the SVG file but I will be programatically changing the file using hundreds of display regions.
