I'm trying to apply an image to a group of objects (text + path etc. it's a logo).

I can apply draw inside to EACH OBJECT, but when I select all, "draw inside" button becomes greyed out. It seems I need to make a compound path, but when I do that, I get the error message "can't make a compound path. All objects in a compound path must be paths, and they cannot be brushed or be part of an object"
