I am creating a logo from a sketch and would like a fire effect around areas of the design, much like the fire in this image:
A fire effect that I'd like to replicate www.novusdesign.net/assets/images/firedragon.jpg
There appears to be a gradient along an arc path with fades to transparent, from 12 o'clock clockwise to 8 o'clock clockwise, as the "base" for the dragon (possible in 0.92.x latest). There are wispy effects around it that appear to each have their own directional gradient, an effect that could be created using carefully positioned radial gradients. This seems like a long job that would constantly have to be redone to tweak the look of the flames until they "looked right".
On this answer to a question about creating this effect on Photoshop, there is a link to an Illustrator tutorial to create this effect. This tutorial uses Illustrator's gradient meshes, something which does not exist in the SVG specification and I have not found in Inkscape. Mesh syntax exists in the latest SVG 2 draft and has been implemented in Inkscape 0.92.x although it is not enabled by default. (In order that my file matches the latest specification draft, I'll update to the latest 0.92.x build.)
How can I create fire along and around a path in Inkscape?
