Is there a way to switch back and forth between symbols libraries so that if I want to drop in different symbols at different times they wouldn't all be combined in the "insert/symbol" window at the same time?

I tried making two different libraries and naming one Symbols while the other is named something else in order to separate, and that works when adding in symbols to a specific group but that doesn't separate symbols when I go to pick one to drop in. I get a collection of both libraries which I don't want.
