I'm trying to make an up-vote combined text/arrow symbol (such as frequently used on stackoverflow sites).



From the white dragging boxes, I can see that the bounding box around the two objects is much larger than the two objects. However, if I start reducing the height of the bounding box, the arrow gets compressed and the number gets cut off from below.
In the end, I would like to align the two symbols with the top border line.

How can I adjust the bounding box to the effective size of the objects in encapsulates?
