: How to achieve the most crisp and sharp font rendering quality? I've seen quite a few professionally made logos and I'm looking for a way to make my text (under 20px height) render as crisp
I've seen quite a few professionally made logos and I'm looking for a way to make my text (under 20px height) render as crisp and precise as theirs. Photoshop unfortunately doesn't provide any more precision than Windows LCD, Sharp, Crisp, etc. That doesn't cut it at all. And I couldn't find a way to render fonts precisely in Illustrator or InDesign (it's my first time using those so maybe they're somewhere deep in the menus). GIMP also didn't give me much control over font hinting and crispness. The best it could do was much worse than Photoshop.
What software in 2017 has the most options to control font hinting, crispness, subpixel rendering and all that? Or perhaps there is no on-step tool for that, but there are special methods to sharpen the text (like actions in Photoshop or equivalent)?
There is a very old question similar to this which I put a bounty on for updated answers.
