I was playing around with illustrator and doing random stuff to make my logo and i managed to make something acceptable. I tried to make it animate and the animation works like this:

Select the blue-zigzaglines fill pattern and move it 40px to the right for 3 seconds, then repeat.

As you can see here it works like it's supposed to, the pattern moves 40px to the right.

I didn't save the .ai file so i tried to recreate it because i wanted to use the letter H instead.
Soo.. it ended up looking like this during animation:

Why isn't the fill behaving the way like the first codepen example? The first one is bigger than the polygon and the second is exactly the size of the polygon. I need it bigger than the polygon like this first one. How to reproduce the first codepen?
