I've been reading apple documentation and so far I've found it extremely confusing and complicated to make simple images for iOS using Photoshop. I understand that each device has different image requirements, do I need to create a handful of different variations of the same graphic? What is the best way to design the graphics for an app using Photoshop.

Additionally, this app is not a game. It would be simple background stuff like a flat image of a house for example.
