I'm having a fair bit of trouble trying to get the desired effect I'm after and since I've tried many options that so far haven't worked I've come here looking for an answer.

I'm looking to add a somewhat complex gradient to the object below. What I'm wanting is for each circle to be a different colour, which fades like a gradient into the other circles.

Very similar to the logo shown below.

I'd like the fill each circle with a colour, then blend that into another the colour of the connecting circle along the straight connected lines.

The closest I've got is to use the mesh tool, however I'm not very familiar with it so can't figure where to set the anchor points to get the desired effect.

I've had a lot of trouble with this so far so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
