I want to show a counter in the middle of an image.

The creation shall work in a batch function, I just want to put in the directory name and I want all images to be numbered afterwards when I open and view them.

I was thinking about using IrfanView's Batch Conversion/Rename feature but I cannot find out how to set the counter. Here is how far I got:

I used Batch conversion - Use advanced options (for bulk resize...) - Add overlay text - Settings





In the Text textarea I can input variables. But the help does not reveal a counter variable. Any help appreciated. Does not have to be IrfanView.
