I tried to align text within a shape in Illustrator with pretty much everything (kerning, tracking, letter spacing, word spacing, etc.), but this is the best I got.

I even used a monospaced font and it still looks fragmented. The problem is probably the word breaks, which only occur at the ends of lines.

Is there any way to automatically add word breaks at the boundaries of shapes? For example, I'd like to move part of "pretium" to the adjacent circled area to fill in the gaps.

Or is there a better way to achieve perfect alignment of type (equal spacing in between all glyphs)?
