So far I've found Lanczos 3 Separable to give the best results. And Lanczos 3 Non-separable is even sharper, but that one is adding too much visible "sharpness" (color edge contrast).

Bicubic producing blurry, and bilinear producing even blurrier results. Does anyone have experience in this area to advice the best downsizing algorithm and the software that does this?

In my case screenshots are 1400x890 PNG, and being downsized to 560x356. It's 40% decrease and with a good resampling text is still readable.
