I think anyone who has been a member of Webmasters for more then a week will know that I am a very active member here (member for 196 days and I've been here every single one of them). I didn't quite start at the beginning but I've been here for a long time. As such I have a good understanding of which questions have been asked before so I can flag duplicate questions quickly. My frequent visits also allow me to handle spam and other flagged content quickly as well.
I am currently a Pro Tem moderator so I am very well aware of the requirements and expectations for moderating this community. I'm not afraid to ask questions on meta and I also take advantage of moderator chat for very specific issues. I will also flag posts for other moderators to review when I am unsure about a specific question or answer.
I used to be a super moderator (called a Team Leader) at the SitePoint.com forums before resigning a couple of years ago so I could spend less time in front of a computer. I currently blog for Authorize.Net but that's about it for my other online commitments which makes it easy for me to focus on moderating here.
The benefits of me being a moderator is my experience moderating as a pro tem moderator, my length of participation, my willingness to ask for help, and the frequency of my visits.
