: If any backlinks are from spammy sites whether we have them created or by somebody else to harm our sites then we can simply let search engines know that those be ignored for ranking purpose.

If any backlinks are from spammy sites whether we have them created or by somebody else to harm our sites then we can simply let search engines know that those be ignored for ranking purpose. Most of us would want to disavow just because a backlink is spammy.
