I have a domain registered with godaddy and hosted elsewhere. I now want to create a sub domain and host it with godaddy vps since I want to run apps which won't wont work on shared hosting.

Am I able to do this seeing that the domain is not hosted with the registrar? When I follow the steps listed on godaddy, in the space that I should see options to add an A record I see this message instead: "We can't display your DNS information because your nameservers aren't managed by us."

Is there a work around for this or do I have to host with the registrar in order to add an A record?
