I have installed Apache 2.4 on a Windows Server 2012 R2. It starts fine from the command line, and I can view test pages and what not.

I then used the command httpd.exe -k install to set it up as a service, and it seems to have been successful, but if I try and start it I get an error message saying "Windows could not start the Apache 2.4 service on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion".

I also don't get anything in the error.log file.

What could I check?
