All the pages of my site (www.houseofwords.com) pass validation, are mobile friendly, and are static. There's an accurate site map. No bot file. They crawl sucessfully.

But in Fetch as Google, many pages of the site's pages look like this:

/stories/rat.html Desktop Render requested (checked) Status (Complete) Indexing requested 4/2/17, 6:25 PM

i.e., they're STILL waiting to be indexed. Exactly what is "complete" about it? It's just hanging there, not doing my request. The only issue I haven't addressed is the "www vs no www" urls. I don't see how it could possibly matter, since each way goes to the site. And, I've endlessly read all of google's disclainers on this.

Can anybody shed light on this? I'm constantly improving the site (content, graphics, navigation, meta search terms, etc.) If I'm permanently on a "bottom of the barrel" list (or whatever G. calls it), what's the point?
