Link in Facebook post for www.example.com (A vanity URL)
example.com -> redirects to -> www.example.net (Our Site URL)

In Google Analytics will the session be marked as Direct or Referral?

I have read that if you have http redirecting to https the referral information is lost. But even if we changed the Facebook link to https would the referral information still be lost as it is goes to another URL which then redirects to the main site?
