Let's say I have a page called apple with two languages - en and fr. Now I will have to host this page under two URLs:
EN: mydomain.com/ca/en/apple/
FR: mydomain.com/ca/fr/apple/ OR mydomain.com/ca/fr/pomme/
I am struggling about the choices for the fr one - from a user perspective, would that be better to translate apple into pomme or just keep it in English form? I can think of two use cases:
when using /ca/fr/pomme/ - to gain readability when user look into the URL, they will know the page is about apple in their language (in this case French)
when user wants to navigate from fr to en, for me I will just simply change the 'fr' to 'en' directly in the URL to see the English version. In this case I would say /ca/fr/apple/ would fit my expectation.
So if you are the owner, which way would you go for and why?
