I have some fields in a Picture where I have to fit in specific Symbols.
Is there a way to automatically fit one layer to a selection?
For an example I have this selected Area:

and want to fit anything inside another Layer into this selection.
By the way I use Gimp 2.8.10

I found something called sg-layer-fit-to-selection its a script which you can use to do exactly this, I installed it to my script folder and after a restart the script can be used in Layer/Fit within Selection if you selected the specific Layer and you made a Selection with the Selection tool.
