What is this style of illustration called? I'd also be interested in the artists name. A friend from Chicago sent this to me. It reminded me of posters from New Orleans that I'd seen for Mardi Gras, but googling that didn't really help illuminate anything. I believe in the picture it looks as if it's moulded plastic, I'm pretty sure it's not folded cloth.

That's probably "art deco". Google it, there are tons of almost same illustrations floating on web
