I have a Photoshop document that I used to create an animated GIF. I want to save a copy of this animated PSD as another PSD, preserving my clipping path but dropping my animation.

I'm able to toggle between video timeline and frame animation in the timeline pane, and I can delete all frames but one.

This seems to be adding file size: 12 times as many MB as the original still image, while cropped to a smaller dimension and with only a basic clipping path added.

Is such a conversion possible?
