Good day, Illustrator masterminds, I wanted to ask for your help with an issue that has been frying my brains over the last couple of days. Here it is:
I have several hundred files, each with 65 layers and I have to export each layer in 5 formats (.eps, .png, .pdf .svg, .dxf) and I'm looking for the most efficient way to do this. At first I was thinking to record an action that exports all layers format after format using an exporting script like MultiExporter by Matthew Ericson .Then batch process all files using this action. The problem with this is when I add this script into action using "Insert menu item" and later try to play it, it just opens the script window and I still have to manually put in values (like destination folder, format and click export), which still means lots and lots of tedious manual work and time. It still does this when I'm entering values and then click "save and close" (in the script window). Am I doing something wrong in the process of recording actions with script or is this how it works? I have not been able to find anything about this problem through google. Maybe there's another script that works better with actions?

As another solution I was thinking of converting layers into artboards (with a help of script) and record an action of exporting artboards with Illustrator's "Export for screens". The problem with this is that it only offers 3 out of 5 formats I need (.png, .svg and .pdf). If I want to get .eps, I would need to go through "Save as..", but would it still save each artboard as a seperate file? Asking, because I have never worked with files that have multiple artboards.

Also, I have never previously dealt with .dxf formats therefore I'm not even sure how to go about exporting these, as it's not available from the drop down menu in Illustrator or script.

I'm sure there might be a very obvious solution to this that I haven't been able to spot. If you have any input on any of the issues I shared, it would be immensely appreciated.

Thanks :)
