In a sketch file, I have symbols that have been duplicated. How do I merge those symbols while maintaining symbol overrides?

Some background

I've tried using the following plugins with the following issues:


Instace-Locator: Appropriately lists out where the symbols are used but only when the symbol is actually on the artboard, not in overrides.
Merge Duplicate Symbols: Works to merge duplicate symbols and relinks them all except in symbol overrides.


Thoughts?
