: InDesign: How to make a dynamic and editable table grid template? (not fixed form!) I need to make a template document in InDesign that contains mostly a 3-column table showing different data
I need to make a template document in InDesign that contains mostly a 3-column table showing different data separated by horizontal lines. The vertical structure will stay the same. The document will only change periodically via new data/rows inserted either in between already existing rows, or at the bottom/end of an existing table. (For clarification please see images below illustrating what I'm trying to do -- I want the document to look this way, the first image with text boxes shown, the second and same image with text boxes hidden, but I want to be able to make the document without having to manually set each individual text box)
How can I create the template so that: 1) all 3 items on each horizontal row, like the items surrounded by the red rectangular box, will always stay together and unaffected by new additions, and 2) the height of every row is expandable and can be either taller or shorter, i.e., the horizontal lines will automatically move according to the amount of new content to be inserted?
Also, the document is intended to be editable only in InDesign, and not as an editable pdf.
Thanks in advance for all your help!
