The antecedents of today's Roman and the Cyrillic alphabets diverged nearly three millennia ago and the scripts still have some letters in common. Both are the basis of rich traditions of calligraphy (the Russian term is Вязь, whose root style was semi-uncial).

Now that these calligraphies have evolved in different cultures and with different letters for so long, what are the main differences between Roman and Cyrillic styles?
