I run a high search-engine-ranked e-commerce operation.

We started doing retail with the first site, but have now had to build a second site for wholesale.

Many of the retail products are offered on the second site, and so they share the same titles, images, descriptions, and other details.

I am staying away from using the same description, as that seems like it might be wrongly interpreted as duplicate content.

My question is.

Would the same alt tag, for the same image, on the same product, on 2 different sites be penalized as duplicate content towards either site?
