I use SAR Image Processor for upscaling images, mainly the Pseudo LAD algorithm. It makes things sharp and clear, but loses detail and creates "paintbrush" artifacts (See attached images).


The problem is, SAR is 32-bit, limiting its ram usage. I recently needed to upscale a 1800x1800 photo by 5x (my usual magnification), but it runs out of ram before it can. I settled on 4x magnification, but this makes the "paintbrush artifacts more prevalent.

My question is: Are there any other programs that upscale using a LAD deconvolution algorithm?

EDIT: Due to compression of this website, the attached image doesn't exemplify the "paintbrush" artifact quite as clearly, but it is still visible nonetheless.
